TIPS and TRICKS

We would publish various tips and tricks in this section to make your surfing more convenient and hassle-free.

Encoding username and password in the URL for accessing password protected members areas
You can access password protected areas of web sites by encoding the username and password in the URL. This would stop the PASSWORD popup box from displaying and save you time. For example, if your username is 'john' and password is 'somepass' and you want to go to our members area at http://somebody.net/realmembers , you can type the following in your browser's LOCATION or URL field:

http://john:somepass@somebody.net/realmembers

This will take you directly to the password controlled area without asking you your username and password. The same thing can be done for accessing the FTP sites.

ftp://john:somepass@ftp.somebody.net would log you in to the ftp server at somebody.net

The format: protocol://username:password@url

Saving up from typing while entering domain names.
You can save up your typing by entering the host name in your URL address without the root domain name and the rest would be automatically filled up for you.

For example to access www.cnn.com , you can just type cnn in URL box and our proxy server would automatically add www. and .com parts.
